Getting Grown
Heading into another year and it’s important to reflect on things accomplished, lessons learned, friends gained, and those lost. A former Pastor of a church I would attend used to say “If you keep on doing what ‘cha doing, you’ll keep getting what ‘cha got”, now this sounds simple but humans are creatures of habit and some things are easier said than done. So as I enter a new chapter of my journey I will share a few pearls of wisdom I’ve collected in the past chapter.
- Treat people with love: No one is perfect but The Creator, so many times people forget to extend the understanding, compassion, forgiveness, and help they wish someone would have extended to them. Love heals and brings people together.
- Check the Ego: Studying The Course, The Bible, and Mr. Tolle’s perception has opened my mind, heart, eyes, and made me take a look in the mirror. The Ego keeps you in bondage and disconnects you from true Joy because it is constant conflict with who you really are. God made us perfect we must know this and accept it. He did not create monsters. Society, Churches (some, not all), Media, and multitude of other life experiences would have you think you cannot change who you are, you alone are not powerful. It’s not true, God made us in his image, accept it embrace it and live in it.
- Life has many plants, so tend to your garden: Work, Education, Relationships, Interest, Bad habits and any other variable of life is like a plant. We must nurture, feed, and tend to the things we want to flourish. So water your love life with affection, commitment, and compromise. Plant your career with seeds of expertise, integrity, and ethics. Regularly prune bad habits with acknowledgement, forgiveness, and dedication to changing.
Change is inevitable, let’s grow, prosper and be happy together! I love EVERYONE
